Pine Needle Tea Anyone

I was feeling sick ( Head cold) yesterday, Just the day before I had seen on youtube a video on Pine needle tea, The video was by Frank Cook, god rest his soul, He was talking about the pine family, Found in pine needles is a high amount of vitamin C, The body will have a easier time absorbing vitamin C from a pine tea. It is very good for colds and for bronchitis, The body has a very hard time absorbing synthetic vitamin c.

Back to what I started with I had a bad cold, so being sick We went out to the woods to collect pine needles, Where we are at in the Piedmont of North Carolina the main pine we have is Pinus taeda (Loblolly Pine). The best to use is Pinus strubus ( Eastern white pine). I made the tea ,

Pine Needle tea

1/2 cup of pine needles, cut in 1 to 2 inches
(note pick fresh light green needles)(new growth)

Put the cut needles in very hot water ( not boiling, Boiling makes vitamins dissipate.)

Let steep for 10 to 15 min.

Drink with honey .

I drank the tea and had a rush of energy and today I feel good, Cold gone.
The power of nature.
